The Diocesan Mass for Pope Francis will be held this Sunday, 27 April (the culmination of the Easter Octave) at the 11am Solemn Mass at St Patrickโ€™s Cathedral, Parramatta. All are warmly invited to attend, and we ask that you share this news with your parish, school, agency, or ministry networks. Bishop Vincent Long OFM Conv will celebrate the Mass, and all clergy are invited to concelebrate if your Parish Mass schedule allows. The Mass will also be livestreamed on St Patrickโ€™s Cathedral YouTube channel: parracatholic.org/events/diocesan-mass-for-pope-francis/ For anyone wishing to write condolence messages, the Australian Catholic Bishops Conference is organising a condolence book to pass onto the Apostolic Nuncio to Australia, Archbishop Charles Balvo, who was appointed Nuncio by Pope Francis in 2022. Please email your message to condolencebook@catholic.org.au. May he rest in the peace of Christ.

In the lead up to Good Friday โœ๏ธ, our Year 5 students created artworks of their chosen Station of the Cross, each reflecting on Jesusโ€™ journey of love, sacrifice, and service. This week, our whole school celebrated a fun PBS4L reward for showing care for ourselves, others, and the environment ๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿ’›. Each class took part in an egg and spoon race ๐Ÿฅš๐Ÿฅ„, competing with big smiles and lots of laughs! ๐Ÿ˜„๐ŸŽ‰ One winner from each grade made it through to todayโ€™s grand final ๐Ÿ†โ€”what a race it was! Congratulations to Kindergarten and Year 5 for winning their heats ๐ŸŽŠ๐Ÿ‘. Our teachers also brought the energyโ€”huge cheers for Mrs Mardini and Ms Quirk, the dream team who took out the teacher race ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ’จ๐Ÿ’ฅ! What a fun-filled week of teamwork, celebration and joy!

Today, our Year 5 students led us in a beautiful and reverent reflection on the Garden of Gethsemane. Through stillness and thoughtful prayer, they invited us to sit in the quiet with Jesus during His time of sorrow. The olive branches reminded us of peace, the darkness of the garden symbolised the weight of His burden, and their gentle words helped us feel the love and courage He showed.
